Understanding the quality of your sleep is an important step in diagnosing and treating sleep apnea.
At Palermo Village Dental, SleepImage Ring technology provides a simple, comfortable, and highly accurate way to evaluate your breathing and sleep patterns from the comfort of your own home.
The SleepImage Ring is a small, lightweight device worn on your finger overnight. While you sleep, it measures key indicators such as oxygen levels, pulse rate, and sleep stability. This information is then analyzed to identify signs of obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep-related breathing issues. Unlike traditional sleep studies that may require an overnight stay in a clinic, the SleepImage Ring allows you to maintain your normal routine while still gathering reliable diagnostic information.
This technology helps Dr. Blair better understand how your airway is functioning during sleep and whether treatment may benefit you. It also supports more personalized treatment planning, ensuring recommendations are based on accurate, real-world data.
As the saying goes, “a picture is worth 1,000 words.” And, the same rings true with your sleep habits. The best way to get the full picture of your sleeping patterns is to complete a sleep study.
The SleepImage Ring is an innovative wearable biometric device that monitors your sleep throughout the night.
While you’re catching Zz’s (or trying to), the FDA-approved wearable ring monitor records:
If you are struggling with sleep and you think you may have sleep apnea, or if you are curious to see what your sleep habits show, get started with a trip to Palermo Village Dental’s sleep clinic.
First, we will want to speak with you to ensure you are a good candidate for the at-home sleep study and determine which type of sleep study is best for you.
Once you have your SleepImage Ring, you will go home to complete the sleep study over 2 nights, with a minimum sleep of 4 hours per night. If you snore, you will also need to download the Snorelab app to assess your snoring.
If sleep apnea is identified, you will be directed to set up an online consultation with a sleep physician, where we may prescribe an oral appliance or Solea Sleep.
The wearable SleepImage Ring comfortably and conveniently fits on your finger and tracks your sleep patterns throughout the night. While you’re snoozing, the ring sends the data it collects to an app on your phone, which is then used by your sleep clinic dentist to assess your sleep.
Most smartphones or tablets can run the SleepImage App, which is used to store the data gathered by the SleepImage Ring. Once the data is uploaded to your phone or tablet, you dentist will assess the information and help you find a solution for your sleeping troubles.
